Think Twice About Becoming a Vegetarian
With the issue of animal treatment in industrial commercial animal farms and as we are always begin told by our parents, doctors, or significant others to eat more fruits and veggies, it is reasonable to ask yourselves, “Why not go all the way and come a vegetarian?” We already know that there are many nutrient deficiencies in a vegetarian diet, but we also know that if we carefully plan, we can avoid these problems.
However, there are still many opponents to the vegetarian diet. These advocate of a diets that include animal meat say that children who are raised as vegetarians or vegans will not get enough of certain forms of specific nutrients, such as B12, zinc, iron, and calcium. “Getting these nutrients from non-animal products just is not the same,” they claim. And some studies have proven this point. Vegan and vegetarian children tend to grow a little slower than meat-eating children.
